The Aussie men’s swim brand explain how they made a splash with custom packaging from inke.
One of our favourite things about our work at inke is the opportunities we get to work with hundreds of brands, big and small. Each brand comes to us at inke with their own needs and challenges, and we love bringing their ideas to life with custom packaging that’s as unique as they are.
A brand we’ve loved working with is Skwosh, an Australian company born when three guys noticed a hole in the market for shorts that could take them from beach to bar. Noticing that there was no shortage of options for girls when it came to swimwear, the Skwosh team set out to broaden the horizons for men and provide great quality shorts that were as comfy as they were stylish. We’d say – mission accomplished!
The Skwosh team brought inke on board in 2018 to help create custom packaging, and haven’t looked back since. “We’ve seen an improvement in customer satisfaction and branding awareness on social channels,” said Adam Walsh, Skwosh Managing Director. “We’ve had lots of great feedback from our customer base.”
Having tried to source custom packaging in the past, the Skwosh team noted that inke’s user-friendly self-service platform was a welcome change to the “inefficiencies” they’d experienced previously. “The website is extremely easy to use and customer service is exceptional,” Adam said, noting that cutting out the back-and-forth communication in favour of instant ordering was a revelation.
The 14-day turnaround was also a big tick, as “we didn’t need to wait months on end for product to arrive.” Receiving their boxes direct to the warehouse was another way in which working with inke made the custom packaging process easier for Skwosh.
Since introducing their branded boxes, Skwosh have noticed “a big uptick” in customer engagement. Social media posts featuring the brand have increased, particularly those featuring the all-important unboxing experience.
While social exposure has increased, Skwosh has kept packaging costs down by incorporating their custom boxes as a premium offering. “We’ve added gift boxes as a checkout option,” said Adam, adding that VIP customers ordering multiple items receive the box for free.
The branded boxes have also met the demand experienced around key gifting occasions, with customers seeking something more than the standard packaging. Offering the branded box as an add-on helps to offset costs and keep custom packaging a feasible option. “inke was able to help us create the perfect custom packaging without the high overheads.”
