An iconic shoe, with a box to match…
Inke was brought onto the project to help create a unique experience with custom printed packaging, we were thrilled to work with an iconic brand like Converse.
We got to work right away to ensure each guest at the launch would be blown away by the personal touches on each Chuck 70 shoe box. Each guest would be greeted and gifted their own box of Converse Chuck 70s as they arrived at the event, so it was truly a first impression to set the tone of the event.
Inke worked closely with Converse and the One Two team to perfect the box design, we created multiple prototypes to explore varying sizes and styles of boxes & we landed on using a two piece lid-box to pay homage to the original design. We used a striking double-sided print to clearly communicate the brand’s story to guests with style. The printed box design by Converse was all about texture. You’ll notice that it resembles crinkled paper for a nostalgic, worn-in feel that makes you want to slip into your comfy Chuck 70s right away.
As guests opened the box, the underneath of the lid revealed the story of the iconic shoe on the inside of the lid. But, the best personal touch and the real statement of the box was in our ability to use variable data printing. This meant we could print different details on the same design for various boxes. We used this to personalise the top of each box with guests’ names. The freedom and options offered by inke’s custom digital printing and box design set the Chuck 70 launch apart.
These special touches created an experience of a personal and inviting launch event to celebrate a much-loved iconic shoe. We were thrilled to create something special for Converse and consider ourselves lucky to be a part of such an awesome event.
